Appearance[]
It is described as plump, this fact caught Michio by surprise because he had not seen such a fat elf until then.
Personality[]
He seems to be somewhat lazy in regards to going into the labyrinths on his territory. He also does not show any kind of respect towards Adventurers, having built his castle interior in Shield Cement.
He's also a cowardly man, not wanting to have anything to do with the bandits and labyrinths in his territory and is insistent on having his guards about him at all times and covered his castle interior in Shield Cement to prevent invasion via Field Walk. He also runs away to hide when Duke came to invade his castle to escape punishment.
He possibly has resentment over having to be the lord of Selmar, since he was the younger brother and was expected to lead whatever life he wanted, until his brother died and he was forced to become the new lord.
Background[]
He is a quite lazy noble who continuously neglects its duties. He hardly ever gets to a labyrinth and has allowed labyrinths in its territory to grow to unmanageable sizes.
Cassia's father and he were brothers — the former as the elder, and himself as the younger. As the younger son, he wasn't expected to rule anything and was free to live how he wished. However, his brother died (probably from the labyrinths) and the Earl had to suddenly become the new lord of Selmar. He also took his niece Cassia under his wing as his ward. He had a few children through his wife, whom he had married at some point.
When the labyrinths in his territory started getting out of control and endangering the lives of the people, the Duke had to step in with the approval of the Elf Council of Elders and the Emperor to strip him of his title and hand it to his (the Earl's) son. It's assumed he was executed.
Chronology[]
He had his Ring of Determination stolen by the Heinz bandit gang.
After Michio defeated the bandit gang, he had an audience with the Earl to return the ring of determination.
Abilities[]
He is expected to be stronger due to his position in order to fulfill his duties regarding Labyrinth subjugation and getting rid of bandits. Nonetheless, he is a relatively low level Knight when compared to his age and not considered up to the task. He tries to avoid the labyrinths whenever possible.

He married his wife at some point not long after his sudden ascension to the Earldom, and had a few children with her. It's unknown what their relationship was, but it's hinted to not have been good, since his wife before she died told Rutina to hide coins and sew them within her clothes in case something happened, most likely predicting that her husband would eventually be brought down for not fulfilling his duties as a noble.
Rutina[]
Rutina supports her father and swore revenge against the Duke. Though she understood that her father was in the wrong in failing his duty as a noble. He pampers his daughter to the point that she has no experience in the Labyrinths or has even held a weapon.

Brocken North Braun Anhalt[]
He has a rivalry with the Duke and according to Michio they look like kids quarreling when they meet each other.
Gozer North Braun Anhalt[]
Gozer is the Duke's right hand. Doesn't like him either.
Michio Kaga[]
Michio belongs to the Duke's faction and thus was suspicious of him being an Adventurer until he proved that he was an Explorer.
