Imperial Capital Slave Merchant

He is a slave merchant based in the imperial capital.

Appearance[]

In the LN, his appearance isn't mentioned. However, in the anime, he's shown to be a man of middle age, with sandy blond hair, and a beard. His eye color is unknown.

Personality[]

He is not that nice with slaves. According to Michio his personality is day/night compared to his.

He seems to be superstitious as seen when he speaks about Miria crime fishing in the territory of a temple, and he fears divine punishment if he started to teach her Brahim.

He also seemed to be a dishonest and greedy businessman, as he avoiding talking about the details of Miria's crime as well as the Curse. He also tried to swindle Michio by charging 600,000 nars for Miria, despite the fact that she was a criminal with a Curse, didn't speak a lick of Brahim, nor had she been given any slave training. It was only because of Michio's reluctance due to the Curse bit, and the Merchant's eagerness to get rid of Miria (and Michio's 30% discount) was Michio able to get it down to 280,000 nars.

Background[]

He was a Slave Merchant who owns a very large slave shop in the Imperial Capital that focused on variety and quantity, rather than quality.

Based on his level, he might not have been a Slave Merchant for long. However, this could be that Alan's level was so high because he frequents the Labyrinths.

Chronology[]

Michio was initially recommended by Alan's letter when he was looking for a Master Smith. He ended up buying Miria from him.

Abilities[]

As a Slave Merchant, can use his skill to alter people's Intelligence Cards to make others the master of slaves they purchase from him or to change existing contracts or wills.

Relationships[]

Alan[]

He and Alan are business associates in the Slave Merchant's Guild. They share information and are even willing to refer clients to each other. Alan referred him to Michio, who had originally been looking for a Master Smith slave.

Afterwards, when Michio met with Alan again, he was informed that the Merchant had sent Alan a letter thanking him for a wonderful transaction (the 30% Discount skill probably brainwashes Merchants into thinking they're getting great deals or wipe all memory of the transaction, only that they made one).

It's unknown what their personal relationship is like.

Michio[]

Michio had been referred by Alan to his shop to search for Master Smith slave, but since, unknown to anyone, Michio had already got himself a Master Smith slave, he came to find a new vanguard companion for his Party in order to continue exploring the higher floors as monsters started getting stronger and more numerous.

He treated Michio like any other client, particularly since he had a letter of introduction from a colleague. He proudly boasted of his shop which had a variety of choice to choose from. When Michio showed interest in Miria, he was willing to deceive him in order to get rid of her and for a large sum of nars.

Michio has a lower view of him compared to Michio's relationship with Alan.

Miria[]

The Slave Merchant dislikes her greatly and seems regretful that he received her. He also seems superstitious as, not wanted to get cursed, he neglected her slave training and didn't teach her Brahim. He was also very eager to get rid of her by trying to sell her to Michio without giving him all the information in order to get a nice payout from selling her, since he couldn't sell her at the auction.

Trivia[]

  • The Imperial Capital Slave Merchant seems to offer less quality and more quantity, as while he does, indeed, have many slaves to choose from, there are many who didn't speak Brahim, didn't seem to be properly trained as slaves (due to how they acted towards Michio), didn't have outstanding abilities, and many either weren't pretty or didn't have good body types (though this is from Michio's biased POV).
  • This being said, it's possible that many of the good ones had already been bought by previous clients, since, according to him, it's popular to buy beautiful combat slaves to venture into the Labyrinths — and there is one near the Capital.
