In order to become a Monk, one must first become a level 5 Villager and deal a finishing blow on a demon while using their bare hands. Monks have the abilities:

- Relieves pain and cures light injuries. Large wounds like getting an arm cut off require a higher tier nourishment tablet.

- Apparently, the Monk job is slightly superior to the Priest/Shrine Maiden jobs in that they heal individuals quickly for less MP, while the latter heals collectively for less effect at the expense of using more MP. However, the latter job becomes necessary for Parties at higher floors — 35 and over — as monsters activate AOE magic attacks more often.
- The difference between Monk and Priest/Shrine Maiden is that the former heals individuals, while the latter heals collectively.
- Unlike the Priest/Shrine Maiden jobs, Monk doesn't have a higher-tier job (i.e. Abbot).
- For some reason, there's no female equivalent to Monk: the Nun.
