Trivia []
- Males get the Priest job, females get the Shrine Maiden job. However, both jobs behave identically and are not otherwise different from one another.
- While Priests and Shrine Maidens are supposedly weaker jobs compared to Monk, they're able to heal collectively as a Party versus Individually, making those jobs essential when you go up to higher and more difficult floors (Floors 34 and up), where monsters start increasing their usage of Area-of-Effect Magic, and gives you less time to heal people individually.
- Sherry tried to get the job of Shrine Maiden after failing to become a Master Smith. After reaching level 5 Villager, she finally got the job. However Michio doesn't tell her she has the job until they go to the waterfall.
- A trainee must focus on the waterfall as a whole, rather than getting distracted by other things, as Michio and Vesta had proven.
- Sherry, Roxanne, and Miria didn't get the Shrine Maiden job at first due to the following (in order): Sherry was distracted by her being unable to get the Master Smith job and wasn't sure if she could get the Shrine Maiden job; Roxanne was focused on the edges of where the waterfall hit her rather than the waterfall as a whole; and Miria kept getting distracted by trying to catch fish instead of focusing on the waterfall. Once Michio told her to try becoming "one with the waterfall" so that the fish wouldn't flee from her, she did and finally got the Shrine Maiden job.
- Michio and the others got their Priest and Shrine Maiden jobs by going to the waterfall that's nestled in the forest near Hafen, the fishing village in Hartz Duchy that they go do to buy fish and shrimp. It used to be part of the Priest/Shrine Maiden Guild, but due to the appearance of monsters was forced to close it down to prevent casualties.
- Unlike the Priest/Shrine Maiden jobs, Monk doesn't have a higher-tier job (i.e. Abbot).
- For some reason, the female equivalent job is Shrine Maiden instead of Priestess. Some fans feel that Shrine Maiden should be a separate job.
